FAQ's

  • Please allow up to 3-5 business days for your order to arrive. If you have been waiting longer than this and your tracking is not updated then please email "help@storiesandink.com". If tracking shows “order delivered” and you still haven’t received your order, please check that it has not been left with another household member or a neighbour before emailing us.

  • Most orders are processed the same day that they are placed, but please allow for weekends/bank holidays as our warehouse will be closed during these periods. Generally orders make it to our customers in 3-5 working days.

  • If you place an order on the weekend or a bank holiday your order will not be processed until the next working day. However, if you have ordered in the week your order may still get to over the weekend as our couriers work over these times.

  • If you have not received a tracking number this is usually because your order has not been shipped yet. Orders are usually dispatched within 1 to 2 days, but please allow more time over weekends and public holidays.

  • There is no specific order you have to use your Stories and Ink products to feel the benefits but we do try to promote a good, consistent routine.

    We suggest using the Exfoliating Body Wash 3-4 times a week in the bath or shower to keep the dead skin away from your tattoos.

    With the Daily Moisturiser the clue is in the name! We recommend applying daily when you get out of the shower or bath. Customers use it anywhere from 1-3 times a day to keep their tattoos nicely hydrated.

    We recommend using the Vibrancy Serum before you go to bed. Just put a thin layer on your tattoos and you will wake up with some extra pop to your ink! This being said, it can also be layered on top of the Daily Moisturiser when you want a bit of extra glow in the day!

    The Highlighting Body Oil can be used as a top up throughout the day to give your ink a nice glossy finish as if it were fresh! This can be layered on top of the Daily Moisturiser for prime hydration.

    The After Care Cream is the only outlier from a routine perspective. This is for fresh ink to help with healing, we suggest using it for 2-3 weeks after getting a fresh tattoo. You can also use it as a super rich moisturiser for particularly stubborn dry skin!

    There are no right or wrongs when it comes to the order you use Stories and Ink products. Layer, don’t layer, whatever routine works best for you and your skin!

  • Our Daily Moisturiser contains a low SPF with UVA and UVB filters. But, we always recommend using a stronger SPF sun cream for full protection.

  • The Vibrancy Serum can give life to old pigment making it look vibrant again, it normally takes about 14 days of use to see it’s full effects. However, if your tattoos have suffered serious UV damage the Vibrancy Serum will not be able to help with this.

  • Orders and delivery time

  • The majority of our orders are sent via Royal Mail 48 hours. But, if you have ordered one our Gift Sets it will be delivered by DPD.

  • You should receive your tracking number when your order is dispatched.

  • Payment and returns

  • We accept all major credit and debit card payments, including American Express. You are able to pay with Paypal Express and we also are compatible with Klarna and Amazon Pay.

  • Klarna is one of the payment gateways we are now compatible with. When paying with Klarna you can split your payments for products over 3 months. Klarna pays directly to the merchant and then the customer pays back Klarna in installments.There is no extra charge to the customer as the merchant absorbs the service charge.

  • If you are in need of a refund please email help@storiesandink.com. We will ask you for a reason for the refund in case it is something we need to improve in the future. Your refund will be processed immediately but this can take up to 10 working days to show on your statement. If after 10 working days your refund has not shown on your statement, please contact help@storiesandink.com

  • Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer. There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted: (if applicable) * Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error. * Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery .

  • Our products either say ‘For Healed Skin’ or ‘For Fresh Tattoos’.
    This is a fairly obvious, yet very important distinction.
    We consider ‘Healed Skin’ 2-3 weeks after you’ve had your tattoo.
    Once ALL swelling, redness, itching, flaking and scabbing has subsided.

  • Although we do not use palm oil in our products, the active antibacterial ingredient we use is derived from responsibly sourced palm oil (RSPO).

It is the bundle we suggest to first time buyers who want to try the range and bring some new life to old tattoos. Tattoo Care Kit - The Tattoo Care Kit Contains X1 Aftercare Cream, X1 Exfoliating Body Wash, X1 Daily Moisturiser, x1 Highlighting Body Oil, X1 Vibrancy Serum. This bundle makes an amazing gift for any tattoo enthusiast. It’s also good for people who are familiar with the range and want a bit of everything. This is the cheapest way to get your hands on the whole range. AM/PM Kit - The AM/PM Kit contains X1 Exfoliating Body Wash, X1 Daily Moisturiser and X1 Vibrancy Serum. This bundle is great for those of our customers who are committed to the daily routine! It is also the best bundle if you are looking to revive old tattoos.

  • Yes! You will still see the benefits of each product if you layer them up. We tend to recommend Daily Moisturiser first then Vibrancy Serum and finally Highlighting Body Oil.

  • You can use the Vibrancy Serum as an overnight nourishment for your tattoos or you can layer it on top of the Daily Moisturiser in the morning.

  • Most of our packaging is recyclable with just a couple of exceptions. All of the cardboard cartons can be recycled in home cardboard recycling. The aluminium tubes can go in with plastic and cans. They just need the top cut off and rinsing out. The plastic tubes can go in with plastic and cans as well. These also need to be cut and rinsed out first. Please remove all caps and the pump from the Highlighting Body Oil as they are non recyclable.

After a decade building surf, skate and lifestyle brands, Simon started his own creative agency, which has gone on to work with some of the most credible global brands. Stu’s passion lies in skincare, with a background in developing consumer-first products that use only the best natural active ingredients and botanical blends. Together, they founded Stories & Ink – to answer a need unmet by anyone else. They noticed that despite the acceptance of tattoos in mainstream culture, there was a severe lack of skincare products for people with tattoos. Sure, there were immediate aftercare serums and nappy rash creams repurposed as repair lotions – but no credible brand to help care for tattooed skin, long-term.
